Gourd Luminaries Class

In this class you will learn the skills to create a beautiful Gourd Luminary. With the lights off and the lamp on transform any room into a desert sky full of stars!
I'll supply the following items for the class: one small / medium sized Cannon Ball or Canteen Gourd cut cleaned and project ready, lamp base, and electrical cord. Available tools include: drill bits in assorted sizes, mini jigsaw if you want to cut designs into the gourd, mask, gloves, paints, tape, stain for bases or black spray paint, and pictures of patterns you can use or create on your own. I also have a limited number of extra Dremel tools to share if you don’t have one.
If you have your own carver, Dremel tool, Dremel bur#192, Dremel drill bit called "brad point" (available from Lowes or Home Depot), (I supple 2.5 watt equivalent or lower LED Bulb). NOTE: This lamp is done with tapelines instead of wood burner.) Please wear old clothes and bring lunch or snack.
Gourd Cut Outs Class

In this class you will learn the skills to create a Gourd Vase of your very own. This class is appropriate for ALL levels. You don’t need to have worked with gourds before. Beginners are welcome, we are all creative!!!!
Learn all the basics to get a gourd from the Field to your home. Work with a various tools, inks and leather dyes while you design your own piece of art.
At the conclusion of the class you will have a completed piece of art to put in your home and enjoy. Just come ready to create and enjoy! Wear old clothes and bring a snack or lunch. I’ll provide everything you need to complete your Art Piece gourds, equipment, dyes, and inks. If you have your own Dremel or wood burner, that your familiar with, please bring them, as we do have to share these items during the class. A limited number of saws will be available to share.

Gingko Leave Gourd Class

In this class you will learn the skills to create a lovely Gingko Leave patterned gourd. You will clean, cut, burn, carve, stain and finish this gourd creating your own unique design!
I'll supply the gourd and the patterns which can be applied with a wood burner or a Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pen med to fine point (available at Michales, Dremel or carver. If desired a #192 Dremel bit can be purchased from Lowes.
Please bring your own wood burner, burs, Dremel master carver (or preferred carver), and apron.
Please wear old clothes and bring lunch or snack.
Vase with Stippling Class

In this class you will create a Gourd Vase embellished with stippling and an intricate zendoodle pattern. You will stain and stippled for texture and dimension giving your gourd a truly unique design!

Gourd Doll Class

In this class you will create a detailed Gourd Doll. Part of my tribal collection, this piece takes inspiration from both Native American and African culture.
I'll supply the gourd, mini pots and gourd base. I will have a limited number of tools available to share including Dremel tools, a mini jigsaw, masks, gloves, paints, tape, stain, and patterns you can use to make your creation.

Gourd Sculpture with Clay

In this class you will learn to mix artistic media with technique that sculpts fiber clay over a gourd armature to create a playful bird that is sure to make you smile.
I'll supply everything you need to make your creation. For those interested in creating a miniature sculpture you will start with a smaller gourd armature and mount the finished piece on a cholla cactus base. That class is one day with. Please wear old clothes and bring lunch or snack.

Up to 10 people per class or minimum 5 in a private group class.

Most classes run 4-5 hours and are one day (with lunch breaks).

Always bring your own tools when possible as all tools supplied by me are shared.
